Roberto Stallion Brochure - 1974

Roberto, bred in the United States by Darby Dan’s owner, John Galbreath, and sent to Vincent O’Brien, was an Irish Champion at two who went on to win the English Derby and Benson and Hedges Gold Cup, defeating Brigadier Gerard.  His import to the American bred is significant and is still of influence to this day.  This brochure has a fascinating narrative highlighting both horse, owner and farm.  Darby Dan Farm is only one of two farms to have bred, raced and won both the English and Kentucky Derby’s.  Darby Dan Farm is the only farm to have won the two Derby’s and the Breeder’s Cup Classic.

This brochure is original (printed in 1974), mint condition and just recently discovered in a closet at the Darby Dan Farm office in Lexington, Kentucky.  Less than a handful remain for each of these classic Darby Dan stallions.  Each brochure is an authentic historical document in prime condition.
